How to enter a regatta on BROE2: a guide for club secretaries

Affiliated competitions take entries through British Rowing Online Entry. Here is how it works, and the usual reasons it goes wrong.

BoatLog is independent software from Civil Digital. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by British Rowing or any organisation named in this guide. Always check the current official guidance and follow your club's own procedures.

Who makes the entries

Affiliated competitions take entries through BROE2, British Rowing's online entry system. Each club appoints one or more online entry administrators, set up through British Rowing's ClubHub. Those administrators need a British Rowing account linked to the club.

Why a rower might not appear

  • The wrong membership: the system only offers rowers whose British Rowing membership allows racing and is valid on race day. Check our membership types guide.
  • The membership expires before the race.
  • They're not linked to your club in British Rowing's system.
  • The club's own status: British Rowing has said clubs without an approved safety audit can lose access to entries.

Before the closing date

Entry deadlines are strict and late entries are usually refused. Agree crews early, check everyone's eligibility, and leave time to pay.

How BoatLog helps

Once crews are entered, BoatLog lets the captain book the boats for the competition, so the right hull is rigged and on the trailer, and keeps the club's membership records in order. BoatLog does not connect to BROE2; entries are made through British Rowing.
